Memilih antara Citakan:Tlf dan Citakan:Tlf

Sebelum tahun 2014, para penyunting di Wikipeia bahasa Inggris harus memutuskan apakah mereka akan menggunakan {{Cite web}} atau Citakan:Tlf berdasarkan fitur dari kedua templat tersebut. Namun pada tahun 2014, Citakan:Em perbedaan antara dua templat ini dihilangkan.

Mulai tanggal 29 Juli 2016, Citakan:Tlf dan Citakan:Tlf memiliki perbedaan seperti berikut ini:

• Citakan:Tlf bisa digunakan untuk sumber-sumber luring (kertas) sedangkan Citakan:Tlf menghasilkan galat "URL tidak ditemukan" ketika tidak ada URL yang disediakan
• Citakan:Tlf menerima parameter |issue= dan |volume=, sementara Citakan:Tlf tidak (Lihat Citakan:Section link.)

Tetapi dengan pengaturan parameter yang valid dan serupa, hasilnya persis sama:
